Which material is a practical starting point for laser projects?
3mm basswood plywood is an approachable option for signs, models, ornaments and painted crafts. Coated aluminum cards are useful for small personalization tests. In both cases, confirm material compatibility and begin with a small test because results vary by laser source, focus and settings.
Are the aluminum business cards intended for laser cutting?
The 0.2 mm aluminum alloy blank cards are sold as surfaces for personalized marking and printing. Do not assume that a machine can cut the metal. Check whether your laser source can mark the specific coating and follow the machine and material instructions.
How should I choose a sheet material for CNC routing?
Match the sheet composition and thickness to the router, bit, spindle and intended part. Confirm workholding, feed rate, spindle speed and depth per pass before machining. Composite and resin-based sheets also require material-appropriate dust control and protective equipment according to the supplier's instructions.
What should I check before buying high-speed PLA?
Check printer and filament compatibility, pack quantity, available colors and regional shipping. The current High-Speed PLA listing is limited to EU shipping. Calibrate temperature, flow and cooling before increasing speed on a full-size print.
How do I find reliable settings for a new material?
